Author Vickie Hall

Vickie is a native of Utah, but growing up, lived in the states of Colorado, Idaho, Montana, and Nebraska. When she's not writing, she's composing music, or shopping with her sister. She loves animals of all kinds and camping with her family. Her favorite pastime is watching old movies on TCM, and unashamedly has a crush on Cary Grant.

What is the name of your most recent book and if you had to sum it up in 30 or less words, what would you say? Secrets of the Red Box - this is a story with unexpected twists, secrets with the power to destroy lives, and the consequenses paid by a young woman who will go to any lengths to keep those secrets.

If you gave some of your characters an opportunity to speak for themselves, what would they say? Are you talkin' to me? Are you talkin' to me?

Do you have plans for a new book? Yes, I'm currently working on a new manuscript that takes place in 1910 about a fake medium who gets drawn into finding a murderer.  Is this book part of a series? I haven't decided yet, but it's quite possible this might work as a series.

What or who inspired you to write?  My junior high Enlgish teacher. She used to comment on my papers and asked me if I'd ever thought about becoming a writer. She really got me thinking about something I'd always loved to do. And how long have you been writing? I've been writing off and on most of my life, but seriously pursuing the marketplace for nearly three years.

Would you like to giveaway a copy of your book on this blog? Yes! Absolutely!

How did you come up with the title and cover design? The title actually came as a suggestion during a writer's bootcamp. The cover evolved when I searched istockphoto for "secret". The image I used conveys a sense of mystery and intrigue.

What are your thoughts on book trailers? Sorry, I don't get them. Movie trailers make sense - they are clips from the film with action, dialogue and actors. Book trailers? Not so much. I'd be interested to know if there is any real evidence that they drive readers to buy books. But them maybe I could wait until my book is made into a movie and kill two birds with one stone. LOL.

Do you write under a pen name? Nope. I'm willing to take full credit for anything that embarrasses me about my books.

Do you ever write in your PJ’s? I would if I wore them!

One of your favorite quotes - One of my all time favorites is by George Eliot - "It's never too late to be what you might have been."
