Author Interview - Keri Nola

If you were stranded on a desert island what 3 things would you want with you? 1) My Journal-gotta write! 2) Pandora-gotta sing and dance! 3) Food-gotta eat!

If you were a superhero, what would your name be? Super Empowerment Woman!  It is my mission to remember that I am not a victim of my life journey, but that I can choose words and actions that help me experience empowerment, gratitude, and joy each day.  Yes, definitely Super Empowerment Woman…that’s me for sure.

If you could have any superpower what would you choose? I’d love to experience the superpower of flying. When I imagine this flying superpower though, I envision my ability to control it completely without getting that butterfly feeling in my stomach or throat while soaring through the air experiencing pure freedom, peace, and an ability to access the bigger picture and perspective of the world.

What is your favorite thing to eat for breakfast? I’m a breakfast girl. It’s my favorite meal of the day and I can probably count on one hand the amount of times I haven’t eaten breakfast and they likely all involve the stomach flu. Typical breakfast: organic fruit smoothie with almond milk, an egg-white veggie omelet and a cup of hot herbal tea. On my less health conscious days…bacon, bacon, and more bacon please!

Night owl, or early bird? Definitely a night owl; I tend to get a lot of my best work (especially writing) done after dark.

Skittles or M&Ms? Ohhhhh, this is a hard one! It depends on my mood, sometimes I crave chocolate and sometimes I crave fruity…if I had to pick though, I’d say M&M’s and only if they have peanuts—those are the best.

Any other books in the works? Goals for future projects? There will definitely be more books although I just wrote 2 within a year so I’m taking a little break. Right now my focus is on creating a line of products that correlates with my writing-some telecourses and seminars related to the topics of personal empowerment, authentic living, and spiritual development are in the cue.

What inspired you to want to become a writer? While I always anticipated that writing would be a part of my career, the catalyst for beginning to take pen to paper was the tragic death of a dear friend. As I began my journey of grieving, I found myself searching for answers to questions about my life’s purpose and meaning and how to gain peace again after such pain and it was in this struggle and healing that I found the courage to share my words with the world.

Tell us your most rewarding experience since being published. 44 Holistic Tips For Peaceful Sleep debuted at #1 on Amazon’s Hot New Release List in the Sleep Disorders category and that was an exciting feeling! I love knowing that my work is resonating and supporting others in living their best lives.

What's one piece of advice you would give aspiring authors? Don’t let fear get in the way of sharing your gifts with the world! Write from a genuine place of inspiration and passion and then the people who will benefit from your work will resonate with it because you do.

What is your favorite Quote? “Life is simple. Everything happens for you, not to you. Everything happens at exactly the right moment, neither too soon nor too late. You don't have to like it... it's just easier if you do.” ― Byron Katie

When you were little, what did you want to be when you "grew up"? From as early as I can remember, I always knew I wanted a job where I would “help people.” As a little girl, I didn’t know exactly what that would look like or even what my options were, but I was always clear about my desire to make a difference in the world and help people who were hurting.

Who are your favorite authors of all time? My favorite authors are ones that have written the books that have influenced my personal and professional development the most on my journey so far and to name a few, they are…Wayne Dyer, Byron Katie, Brene Brown, Debbie Ford, and Tara Brach.
