Brother is a story of a family feud, a dark tale, lightly told. I found the narrative to be often quirky and offbeat, and is at all times engaging with a very enjoyable momentum. This novel really is a page turner. Iza P. Goodreads Reviewer.
Dominic blames his brother, Spencer, for bringing ruin to their childhood home. He saw his baby brother as a malign force that provoked their parents to conflict and bitterness.
Only once in their childhood did the brothers nearly reconcile, and that was when Spencer defended Dominic from the school bully, Lar Mangan.
As the brothers grow to adulthood, Dominic’s path again converges with Lar Mangan when he joins a new company and discovers that Mangan - by now an ex-convict – is working and prospering there under a false identity.
Dominic has become the possessor of a deadly secret, and as the brothers stoke up their feud, they are wary only of each other and have no sense of Mangan’s sinister schemes.
They face a choice - to allow a lethal trap to close or to choose their bond over their feud - salvation over blame – and come together to defeat Lar Mangan.

When down-on-herself Rebecca Fowley traipses after a small, intriguing insect and on to the private property of heart-hardened rancher Elias Dellin, confusion and attraction abound. Rebecca is certain that she’s just become turned around in the brush by the highway and Elias is just as sure that she’s 45 miles away from the nearest town. Convinced to return with him to the family farm, Rebecca encounters Elias’ all-seeing but completely blind grandmother, Aurora, and a scene right out of an old western. But her first assumptions that the family is part of a strange society of re-enactors are wiped clean when Elias adamantly assures her that the year is 1843. Rebecca knows this can’t be true; when she parked her car to stretch her legs it was 1999. But just because their birthdays are separated by 165 years doesn’t mean it can’t work, especially with a couple of ethereal beings on their side.
