Meet the Monsterlingz - Sarah Holmlund
Genre - Children's Book
Rating - G

" Imagine being a young child again, presented with a Kindle that has a colourful picture story about a monster family. Each monster has a story to tell, and there is so much more to see..." Would you be engaged by this? Who wouldn't...

Meet The Monsterlingz - they are colourful, diverse, and each of them has something interesting to show your child. A short rhyme accompanies each monsterling, and be best read aloud for a child. But you will probably not get the chance to finish the story, as each page is full of great things to discover. Besides the story being funny, it is a quick read, too, as there are only 15 pages.

If your child will allow you to finish the book, besides wanting to ask numerous questions about the illustrations, you could read this book in about 5 minutes. But it would be better to take some more time, and explore each page with your child and introduce him/her to new concepts found in the illustrations.

This is the first book in the rhyming monster book series about the Monsterlingz family and their family members. The book is best read in colour, as it makes the illustrations really pop off the screen. If you have a child who is between 3 and 8 years old, you should treat yourself and your child to the adventure inside this picture book. It's the perfect illustrated children's book for kids that love monsters and rhymes!

Roy Walker is curious. But in a world where knowledge has disappeared, curiosity will get you killed.

Generations ago, the Passim Virus wiped out most of humanity. The survivors banded together to form the Territory and, now, decades later, no one questions why knowledge has disappeared. Why should they? They're lucky to be alive.

But Roy doesn't feel so lucky. He's haunted by the murder of his father and he's ostracized by everyone in town. He asks way too many questions, especially about the water pumped out by the town's desalination plant.

Then Roy finds a tantalizing clue that leads him down the coast of what used to be the state of Oregon. He's stunned at what he discovers. Everything in the Territory is a lie and everything around him is a front. But to uncover the dark secret behind this front, Roy must venture deeper into the wilderness where marauders and the deadly Passim Virus wait to kill.

It's there, outside the Territory, where he discovers the truth about his father's murder and where he meets his unexpected destiny -- To free humanity from the bondage of a powerful enemy.

The discovery of an immense pterosaur skeleton lures paleontologist Kim Axon to the tar sands near her childhood home of Fort Mic. But Kim’s not the only one drawn to the find’s siren call, and the others are coming for a very different reason.

Fort Mic, where Kim’s father was murdered long ago, is both blessed and cursed by the shadow population who gravitate to the area for cheap trailers while they mine the sands for oil. Townsfolk begin to fall sick. Fearing the spread of the strange disease, the new doctor quarantines the town.
Now alone, the broken community must rise above its past to battle outsiders who do not fear the return of an ancient evil, but worship it.
