‘Say What?!’ ‘What’ You Say is Your Future!
Men and women everywhere are wondering how they can change the direction of their lives. ‘What’ you say is important. ‘What’ you say reflects what is going on inside of you at heart level. Pressures from the outside can create havoc in our minds and emotion….this is the book that can help you make that change.
Kenneth Copeland , Joyce Meyer, and Joel Osteen on the Biblical front, and others like Napolean Hill, Vic Conant, Og Mandino and Zig Ziglar on the business front all speak of and use of daily confessions or affirmations to exercise their spirits and to empower themselves (build themselves up) for success.
Successful daily affirmations (or confessions) can be crafted right from the pages of the biggest selling book of all time….The Bible. This book tells how positive confession and directed action brings about success and ‘turn around’ in every area of your life….stress elimination, relationships, finance, decision making, business, health and so much more.
In this book Linda Newberry shows you how she crafted this Bible based confession (one of many) and why this one covers nearly every aspect of your life in God’s undying promise of victory and success. She explains in detail the message in the scripture from the Hebrew definition and how she translated that into a modern day working affirmation.

There was no God, no justice. But there was such a thing as hell, and he was living in it. You should have taken the money. He couldn't breathe. He slid down the wall and started to sob.
Why didn't you take the money? Hong Kong, 1992. Ruby Wen is in big trouble. She has stolen a heroin shipment thinking she can sell it to a Mafia connection in California. Now someone's cheated her out of it. She owes money all over town to the worst kind of people. The man she stole from is Red Pole of one of Hong Kong's most notorious triads. Thinking a rival triad stole the heroin he takes it to the streets. Inspector Madeleine Lacey barely has time to count the bodies. But when a British backpacker gets caught in the crossfire, she draws a line in the sand. She just wished the DEA liaison officer would get out of her face and let her do her job. And what was it he was trying to hide? As Hong Kong races towards an uncertain future and a Chinese takeover, its underbelly is brutally exposed in a novel of romance and violence where nothing is what it seems and everyone has a secret to hide. This is the fourth book in The Opium series, described by one critic as 'James Clavell meets The Godfather.' It charts the story of the drug trade in Indochina, from sacks thrown in the back of tiny planes in the nineteen sixties to the multimillion dollar international industry that soon became the plague of the western world.

Psychic Warrior takes warfare into the virtual plane through avatars and then reinserts the covert operatives into the real world. The results can be devastating. Mayer uses his real Military experience in the then-classified Special Forces Trojan Warrior program, which was actually conducted, and writes a novel about the new frontier of warfare: the mind.
The Russians sink the submarine USS Thresher in 1963 using their classified psychic project, but something goes awry and all are killed. All except one scientist who plans to take the project to a higher level. Decades later, the Russians unleash Chyort, also known as the ‘Devil’. Chyort is a cyborg that can project into the virtual world with almost limitless power and reassemble his avatar anywhere in real world to wreak havoc. As the Russian mafia steals 20 nuclear warheads to auction them to the highest bidder, Chyort implements his own plan of revenge.
Sergeant Major Jimmy Dalton and a small team of US Green Berets who were originally trained in Trojan Warrior program are thrust into the Psychic Warrior program. The team, called Bright Gate, must battle Chyort on the virtual plane and take their own avatars into the real world. Their mission seems simple. Stop Chyort. If they fail? World War III...

The Silver Strand by L.J. Clarkson

silver strand

The Silver Strand Ever since twelve year old Isabelle Tresdon’s silver strand of hair sprouted, it’s been nothing but trouble: bleeding pink dust and sparking like a firecracker. Refusing to be known as the girl with the freaky, grandma hair, she wishes it never grew and the hair withers and tarnishes. The only problem is, the strand is Isabelle's source of magic, and she can transform particles of energy into matter. It's also her ticket into Mastermind Academy, a secret school inside the earth’s core. Five days remain before the strand drains her magic and life, forcing Isabelle to enter into a deal with two trickster Masterminds to save it. But what she doesn't count on is there is more at stake than just her life. The Silver Strand, a MG Fantasy Adventure for 9-12 year olds, is book 1 in the Mastermind Academy Series.

louisa

Author L.J. Clarkson One thing you need to know about LJ Clarkson is that she tells BIG lies. She tells everyone that she gave up her career as an Environmental Engineer and Project Manager to write full time. But that's not entirely true. Ten percent of the time she sleeps in. Fifteen percent of her day, she spends surfing the internet, researching for new books and her business. Ok, fine. Two percent is for research. But she's only admitting it so she doesn't end up like Boldrick.

For eighteen point seven five percent of her day, she runs her promotional and support site for authors, called Indicated (www.indicated.com.au). The rest of her time involves writing, reading, watching movies and TV, walking her dogs and falling asleep whenever her boyfriend talks technical computer lingo. Truthfully, she hates early mornings, mondays, grammar (yuck! just ask her poor editor!), broccoli and cleaning. If you would like to drop her and line and let her know what you think of the book, she would love to hear from you. Just not before 8:30am in the morning.

Excerpt “Did you know Isabelle has a silver, alien antenna?” Bimouth’s voice sang out over the shouts and chatter of the school bus, capturing everyone’s attention. “In science class, a magnet flew out of Mr. Higgins’ hand and stuck to her antenna. How freaky is that?” Isabelle’s back pressed against her seat. Bianca leapt up like a jack-in-a-box. Her voice came out as a hiss. “Shut your face horse mite or I’ll shut it for you.” Looked like the bus ride might end in death. Bigmouth turned to face Bianca. “What if Isabelle’s antenna, like, turns us into alien zombies?” A chorus of whispers broke out.

Catching the bus was a very bad idea. Isabelle prayed again for that black hole to open up and suck her in. Better yet, she wished it would gobble up the bigmouth. Isabelle tugged on Bianca’s arm and said in a low voice, “Just cut it off.” Her friend’s eyes softened. “You sure, Boof?” “The hair’s caused nothing but trouble since it sprouted.” The little voice inside Isabelle’s mind begged her not to, but she didn’t listen. “Ok.” Something in Bianca’s school bag rattled as she riffled through it. She yanked a pair of scissors free. Isabelle’s gut clenched as her friend laid the strand between the blades.

“Wait!” She suddenly felt unsure about whether to get rid of it. What if it were special and magical like Bianca had said? A magnetic hair, although cool, was hardly magical. Isabelle decided to test it. Closing her eyes, she willed her strand to turn Bigmouth into a toad. But Bigmouth’s voice still carried throughout the bus. “And in gym class, like, she bled this weird, pink dust.” “Definitely an alien,” someone nearby agreed. So much for Isabelle’s strand being magical.

“Cut it,” she said, exchanging a sideways look with Bianca. Her friend squeezed the handles together. Fuchsia-colored sparks shot out and scalded Isabelle’s right cheek. The strand sizzled and hissed like a firecracker, drawing the attention of Bigmouth. She shrieked like a real girl. “Look! Isabelle’s antenna’s on fire.”

It happens each winter, and has for over 35 years. Every time the snow starts to fall late in the evening before a school day, the dreams begin again for Billy Stone. They are always the same – there’s a dark tunnel, and there’s blood, lots of blood, and someone is screaming.
In this chilling childhood tale, Billy, recounts the events of one unforgettable day in 1975. On that day, he and his friends played carefree in the snow, until an adventure gone awry left him far from home, staring death in the face, and running from a killer bent on keeping a horrible secret.
Set in a time before Amber Alerts, when horror stories were told around camp fires instead of on the nightly news, Snow Day is a blend of nostalgia and nightmare that makes us question if the good old days were really as good as we remember.
From a new voice in dark fiction comes a thriller about an idyllic childhood turned horrifying; a cautionary tale about how losing sight of the difference between feeling safe and being safe can lead to deadly consequences.

Rachel Hanna - Why Book Covers Are So Important

Why Book Covers Are So Important
 by: Rachel Hanna

When I talk to budding authors, one of the things I like to stress to them that is so important are book covers. I think your book cover is probably one of the most important aspects of your book aside from the content itself.
So many new authors try to make their own book covers if they are self-publishing, and I think that this is a big mistake. Unless you're trained as a graphic designer and you've made book covers for years, it's probably best to hire someone who is well-versed in creating them.

For one thing, you don't want your book cover to look home made. The last thing you want is for readers to see your book on Amazon or other book venues and think that it's amateurish. This is what happens most of the time when someone tries to create their own book cover. Either they use the wrong font or they make it unreadable when it's in thumbnail size on Amazon. It's important that when you get book covers made, you take a look at the thumbnail image to make sure that people can see it and know what genre it's in.

Remember that your book cover is your first impression. Most of the time, someone is going to pick your book based upon the cover first. Once they're interested by looking at the cover, then they will read the description and decide if they want to read the book. Your book cover is like that first handshake. You have to make it strong to convey a certain image about your book.

Another important thing to remember about book covers is that you need to have the correct rights to the images used on your cover. You can't simply take images off the Internet and use them for your book cover as you will likely be violating copyright and licensing agreements. Instead, you want to buy the rights to stock images from reputable websites and keep the information showing that you have the proper rights to use those images.

Of course, most of this applies to self published authors as traditionally published authors don't have this concern since their publisher will handle the book cover. Since I'm self published, I'm specifically speaking to other self published authors.

Even if you're new to the publishing game, it is critically important that you hire someone to do your book covers for you. You need to look at your genre and try to make your book covers match a similar style simply because you want people to be able to look at your cover quickly and know what genre it is. Sometimes, your book can be great but your cover can be confusing to readers of the genre and therefore not sell.

Investing your money in good covers is important. It doesn't have to cost that much to get quality book covers created. In fact, when I first started out I only paid $25 for my book covers. I happened to come across a very good graphic designer on one of the freelance sites and he was able to create covers for me that competed well with traditionally published books.

Dead Men Kill (Stories from the Golden Age) by L. Ron Hubbard

Dead Men Kill

Detective Terry Lane is a standout homicide cop who thought he d seen it all...until now. As tough as Eliot Ness of The Untouchables and just as incorruptible Lane has seen the darkest side of human behavior. But he s never seen a murder spree like this, targeting the wealthy, the powerful and the privileged. For the evidence is clear: the killers have not emerged from the seamy underside of the city...but from six feet under it. They are the walking dead, spreading terror and showing no mercy. Following a trail of drugs, blackmail, and the twisted clues of a seductive nightclub singer, Detective Lane will have to think outside the box...or he could end up inside one, buried alive.

In 1934, while living in New York, the heart of the publishing industry, Hubbard struck up a friendship with the city s medical examiner a relationship that started his education in undetectable crime and provided him with authoritative clinical background for his detective stories.

"A rollicking horror yarn [that] taps into the current craze for zombies.... heart-pounding." Publishers Weekly
