I've had one of those weeks where Peas looks at me with a raised eyebrow and calls me a bull in a china shop. Why? Because I charge at my to-do list trying to squeeze in as much as I can. I have my reasons but I'll get to that in a bit. For now, bear with me while I share what I've been working on.
First things first, I did something I've never done before, a radio interview. My last experience of appearing on broadcast media was a tv show that was featuring one of my scripts. It was so bad, they actually edited me out and kept my voice. This is why I am a writer and not a tv presenter and yes, I was a little nervous about the interview but it's done and I had fun. If you would like to have a listen, then here it is ...
With the help of my publisher, I've managed to get a sample of the
Blog-A-Licious Directory 2012 ready for viewing. Why is the directory unique? It's the only one of its kind around. A list of blogs being distributed as an ebook. How did it start? A year ago, I started blog hopping every Wednesday and I made an online list of the blogs I had already visited, I called it Blog-A-Licious Wednesdays. But the list grew and grew, it currently stands at more than 1250 blogs so I set aside another blog for others to come share this experience with me -
Blog-A-Licious Blogs. From this, I invited participating bloggers to submit their links for the Directory and it'll be published on 1 December 2011. If you want to have a peep or join in, then click the picture and you'll be a part of something new.
If you ever thought you were just one person and there wasn't much you could do, you're wrong. A fellow author,
Niamh Clune came up with idea of collective book launches. A group of authors collectively launch each other's books through various tools and methods we are familiar with and so my next venture was born.
Book Launch Festival has one author releasing an upcoming novel via a virtual book tour on blogs, Facebook and Twitter. How effective it'll be? I have no idea but I'm willing to try it for one quarter and we'll take it from there. In the meantime, if you'd like to support an author or to get more info then click away. On this note, do also have a peep at what the others have done -
Orangeberry Book Collective and
Amrita Angels.
I did all of this in the midst of finishing
Frequent Traveller and editing my short stories. What could be so horrible that I needed such distractions?
Months ago, I wrote about a lump that had grown on my back. Well, now it's made its way back, again. On the same spot from where it was surgically removed. On Tuesday, we are having it checked and while I have little space inside me to be fearful, I'm terrified of the uncertainty that something might be wrong with my shunt because that is one journey I never want to take again. Deep breath. So, yes I'm doing what I can to sidestep the topic by pouring out my energy into what I do best, writing and sharing. I don't know what is yet to come but for now, I'm twirling like a ballerina would - enjoying every moment of what I have accomplished this week. Come twirl with me?
