Do you have plans for a new book?
I'm actually writing a short Christmas story right now. It's a project I'm doing with two talented authors (Jolene Perry and Kaylee Baldwin) and will ultimately be part of a 3-story compilation book called All I Want. We're hoping to have it out by the first of November.
Is there an Author that you would really like to meet?
Yes! But sadly, he's dead. From The Screwtape Letters to The Chronicles of Narnia toMere Christianity, C.S. Lewis will always top my list of favorite authors. Not only was he a good person, but he was beyond brilliant.
Do you prefer ebooks, paperbacks or hardcover?
I'm still a paperback fan, although my ebooks are quickly rising in the ranks. I love that I don't have to find a place to store a book once I'm finished reading.
Are you a self published (Indie) Author?
I am now, although I did go the traditional route with my first three books. I've decided I'm partial to retaining my rights and control over what happens to my book. The jury's still out on whether or not that was a smart move, but here's hoping.
Have you ever read a book more than once?
Unfortunately, yes. Mine. During the revision process, I read them over and over and over again--to the point where I never want look at them again. :) But other books? No. I'm not a re-reader. I'd rather try something new.
Is there a particular movie that you preferred over the book version?
Not that I can think of. Movies always have to cut out so much, and I hate that.
What book do you know that you will never read?
The Grapes of Wrath--although I should say that I will never read it AGAIN. Unfortunately, not reading it wasn't an option in high school. Morbidly depressing stories aren't my thing.
Who designed the cover of your book?
I did, along with the help of Photoshop and a pretty stock image taken by a talented photographer.
What is the best advice that you have ever been given when it comes to writing?
It comes from James Michener: "I'm not a very good writer, but I'm an excellent rewriter." This keeps me from getting discouraged by those wretched first drafts by reminding me that they can be shaped and turned into something much better.
Do you ever write in your PJ’s?
PJ's, jeans, barefoot & pregnant--I've done them all.
The Reluctant Bachelorette by Rachael Anderson
Unknowingly cast as the bachelorette for her town’s charity event, Taycee Emerson wants out. Especially when she discovers her old teenage crush, Luke Carney, is one of the bachelors and it's up to the viewers--not her--to decide which bachelors stay or go.
Coerced into participating, Taycee does what any self-preserving girl would do. She launches a subtle attack on Luke’s good name with the hope of getting him voted off the show. Unfortunately, Luke's an eye-for-an-eye kind of guy, and when he discovers what she's up to, it means revenge.
But when their pranks go south, will they screw up any chance they have at a future together, or will they be able to forgive and forget and prove that love really does conquer all?
About the Author:
Rachael Anderson is the author of four contemporary romances: Divinely Designed, Luck of the Draw, Minor Adjustments, and The Reluctant Bachelorette. She's the mother of four, can't sing, doesn't dance, and despises tragedies. But she recently figured out how yeast works and can now make homemade bread, which she is really good at eating.
