A miracle drug, Nevermore, spreads like wildfire throughout the world allowing people to eat what they want, no matter how unhealthy it is and yet still lose weight. It is everything the human population has ever dreamed of and Mara is no different. Only a simple twist of fate stops her from taking the drug.

As the weeks roll by, it becomes apparent that Nevermore is not the miracle it claimed. A true to life nightmare, the drug steals the very essence that makes up humanity and unleashes a new and deadly species on the world, a species bent on filling its belly. Locked down within their small farm home, Mara and her husband Sebastian struggle against increasingly bad odds, fighting off marauders and monsters alike.
But Sebastian carries a dark secret, one that more than threatens to tear them apart, it threatens to destroy them both and the love they have for each other. The secret forces Mara to make the ultimate choice. Will she live for love, or will she live to survive?

Enslavement, murder, abuse, illness: there's real trouble for the characters in Trouble Down South and Other Stories. The short stories take the reader on a journey to the past through a collection of interestingly crafted pieces of flawed humanness, social injustice, and redemption, and even humor.

The short story collection of historical fiction chronicles events spanning more than 150 years and addresses a wide range of experiences from African-American perspectives. The stories are set in the South amid a changing landscape in which the characters are forced to wrestle with the social issues surrounding Native Americans, slavery, racism, Prohibition, the Korean War, Civil Rights, the Vietnam War, health, religion, mental illness, and education.

So you wanna run?

OK, then let's run. But it's not going to be easy and this no nonsense program is not for the faint of heart. If you want to run with us, you can't be a punk! Running a marathon is not for the weak bodied or for the fragile spirited.

The physical part of running is only a small portion of how far you can go. It's your mind that will carry you past the physical obstacles. You will feel pain during your training, but it's just weakness leaving the body. Don't cry. Just push through it and stop whining!

If you want to earn that 26.2 bumper sticker, this book will help you get it, but don't think you won't be pushed out of your comfort zone. Comfort is the thief of progress. We don't want to rob you of your progress, so we'll make sure you are anything but comfortable. You may be in pain and you may be tired, but if you stick with it, you'll be glad you did. There's nothing quite like knowing you've accomplished a feat that makes you part of an elite group. It's not every day someone runs 26.2 miles.

Written by a 12 year Army veteran who trained soldiers to get fit, you won't find any sissy stuff here. We concentrate on diet, choosing the proper clothing, training, and most important: mental discipline.

So, if you're truly ready, grab your sneakers, your water bottle and this book to get started. Stay motivated, and stay disciplined. It's all worth it when you cross that finish line. Besides, no one likes a quitter.

The Delphi Chronicle: The Manuscript – Russell Blake
Genre – Action, Adventure
Rating – PG13
4.3 (33 reviews)
Free until 25 October 2012
The Delphi Chronicle is a serial trilogy - a story that unfolds over three installments, with each continuing in the next episode, usually with a cliffhanger ending, on all but the last installment. This first book, The Manuscript, chronicles the saga of NY private eye Michael Derrigan, as he unwittingly comes into possession of a manuscript that will change the world order if its secrets are aired.

Clandestine factions of the U.S. government will do anything to keep the story buried, & a trail of butchery follows Derrigan as he races for his life in a chase that spans from New York, to Mexico, to Havana. An epic roller-coaster ride of a thriller, The Delphi Chronicle's unflinching & often disturbing twists & turns question the nature of reality & of the integrity of our governments in a post-modern world of lies, deceit and betrayal.

Bright Side – Mark Tullius

They call us Thought Thieves, but it's not like we have a choice. All the sick twisted things rolling around in people's heads, we can't help but hear. That's why they rounded us up, stuck us in this little town. It's to make you feel safe. But they can't keep us here forever. It's Day 100 and it's all gonna end. One way or another, I'm getting out of Brightside.

"My faith has been restored, great story tellers are still alive!" Dragonfly

"I'd recommend this book to anyone! Amazing thriller that will keep you engaged to the very end!" Shari Lindsay

"The tension builds with every risky encounter with another thought thief until you're frantically churning through pages to reach the ending - which comes not with a whimper but a wailing scream." ElementalX

"From the first few pages you find your self wondering what will happen next and trying to guess how it will end." LVguy702

"An amazing story, told at breakneck pace...who says science fiction writers cannot develop characters? I don't need to describe the book but only guarantee you won't put it down unfinished." Wardog

If you enjoy dark, fast-paced fiction, Brightside is for you.

Nothing – Barry Crowther

Rating – M
3.9 (11 reviews)
Free until 24 October 2012
An amoral violent Chicago enforcer is heading for the sun and ocean breeze of California to the get to the bottom of the recent suspicious death of his sister. He runs into his own kind as soon as the plane touches asphalt, and they don't appreciate him being around. Not content to let the police handle matters, he begins to follow a trail that leads to the seedy underbelly of Los Angeles and Orange County.

He encounters local gang members, a ruthless West Coast mob boss with his private army of mercenaries plus numerous "Hollywood" types. There are plenty of twists and turns until the grim truth is revealed and a rampage of retribution begins. No one in this novella gets a happy ending or an easy way out. When it's over you might want to reconsider that trip to Disneyland. The California State Tourism Board would prefer it if you didn't read this book. You've been warned.

"It's not his turf, it's not his problem, but now it's someone else's. Chicago Violence meets Disney and Hollywood head on as a Mob Enforcer searches the sun beaten streets of Orange County to find his sisters killer."
