  • eBook review bloggers & free coverage: this is gold and likely the best use of your time.
  • Writing well will sell more ebooks: lots of not-so-good books out there. Writing is a craft that deserves study and practice.
  • Creativity -- associative & random word techniques: get your juices going.
  • People judge us on the way we write: you want 5 star ratings, so don't lose them to bad punctuation and grammar.
  • The editing sweeps: the brain is unifunctional: you won't see this anywhere else.
  • Avoid plagiarism -- document & paraphrase: sounds boring, but it's a legal lifesaver.

Today's writers have to juggle a lot of tasks.

Probably more than they have ever had to before.

Oh sure, writing was always a challenge. Writers always had to come up with a good idea for a novel, then create a plot, a cast of characters, a decent setting and a subplot or two. (And then they had to embark upon the long and often soul-destroying task of finding a publisher.)

Today, it's different. In many ways it's better: you have a lot more options open to you when it comes to being published. You can approach traditional publishers, or choose to publish your books yourself; you can opt for print media, or create an e-book. BUT - along with more choices and opportunities comes more work.

If you decide to publish your own book, you have to start thinking about formatting it, and getting covers created, AND (here's the kicker) doing the lion's share of publicity and promotion.

I could go on, but you get the idea. Luckily, there's a not-so-secret weapon that helps writers to cope with all this. It's an essential tool in the writer's little box of tricks.

    It's a collection of writer's checklists.

The humble checklist can save an author hours of time and frustration. Armed with a checklist to test your initial story idea, you can ensure that you have enough conflict and tension and challenges to keep readers turning the pages. (That's much better than getting halfway through writing it only to find that your lovely bright shiny idea won't hold up!)

With a plotting checklist at your elbow, you can run through the list of 'essentials' to apply to your novel - like character motivation and plausibility and crisis points, to name just a few of the things you have to consider.

Checklists on testing an idea and building a plot are just two of the handy checklists you will find in The Busy Writer's Book of Checklists. In all, there are 23 of them! You will get:

    • Six Foundation Checklists: Getting Ideas, Plotting, Characters, Viewpoint, Dialogue, and Scenes.
    • Three checklists for Setting and Subplots
    • Four Checklists on Getting Organized: Your time, your work space, your files and your projects
    • Three checklists for starting and running writer's groups - including a feedback checklist
    • Four checklists for social networking and websites (Setting up a website or blog, Facebook, Twitter and establishing your writer's network)
    • Three checklists on getting published (researching publishers, writing a synopsis, and publishing on Kindle)
You'll be happy and relieved to have these 23 super-useful checklists in easy reach. And there's even a special bonus for you: writers who buy this book can obtain a full set of printable checklists that they can use again and again!

After Writing4Success created the six foundation checklists several years ago, writers have often requested more. Well, here they are at last, in The Busy Writer's Book of Checklists!

    Enjoy.

Three and a Half Virgins by John Blumenthal
    Genre - Fiction
    Rating - Adult
    4.8 (12 reviews)
    FREE until 2nd September 2012
If you're a woman, how would you react if the man who broke your heart twenty years ago tracked you down to apologize? And if you're that man, what would motivate you to do something that bold and unpredictable, and what would you expect to happen? Would sparks be re-ignited?

It all begins when our hapless hero's wife leaves him for the guy up the block. After a mostly unsuccessful attempt at Internet dating, he finds himself revisiting his reckless past. Engulfed by nostalgia, he's suddenly gripped by pleasant memories and sexual fantasies of three old flames -- Laura, Samantha and Molly -- all of whom happened to have been virgins when he first met each of them twenty years before.

But the warm refuge of the past soon gives way to icy reality as he confronts the sobering details of how maliciously he tricked, seduced and broke each of their hearts. Overcome by remorse and tantalized by curiosity, he finds a way to reshape his past.

Which, if any of the virgins will our hero end up with after his quest? The answer will surprise you, as "Three and a Half Virgins" transports you back and forth through time, and ultimately suggests that the past is not necessarily prologue.

    Rating - PG-13
    4.5 (8 reviews)
    FREE until 2nd September 2012
Retirement is a time for knitting, gardening, and an occasional quiet lunch with friends, according to Kathleen Williamson. Her sister Andrea has an altogether different point of view. When the sisters go to the Canaan Valley to search for paintings mentioned in a document found in an old hotel once owned by their grandparents—paintings that might be Monets—Andrea immediately becomes involved in tracking down a murderer. Kathleen would much rather be looking for the paintings, but she goes along with Andrea, since the victim was their hotel-keeper, murdered just down the hall from their room. The question is: Does the murder have something to do with the elusive paintings?

There are many clues and many suspects, including hotel staff, valley residents, and the mysterious foreigners who come from the Eastern Seaboard for skiing. There are also many types of danger—icy roads, sub-zero temperatures, and a killer who doesn’t care how many people die in the attempt to make sure the right ones do.

Will Ava be able to save her marriage and her career?

Split Decision is the second book in the Hollywood Hill series. It features your favorite characters from Special Delivery - Dr. Hope Love, Brad Whitfield, and Venus Vanderbilt. However, this series can be read in any order.

This book is approximately 25K words and is what I term a "novellini". Perfect, delightful story for those who want to read a light, funny book while at the beach, or in the tub with a bottle of bubbly, or snuggled up in front of the fire sipping hot cocoa. Enjoy!
